Should I prime before I paint my project?
Rethunk Junk by Laura® all-in-one furniture paint was created to be a NO PRIMER paint! However, sometimes there's just no getting around the need for a primer! For those pesky projects, we created Power Primer - our bonding and blocking primer that solves those common challenges.
Bonding & Blocking
Painting an extra-slick surface? Power Primer is a bonding primer that sticks to everything including laminate! Painting a new construction cabinet? Power Primer will stick to that waxy finish that repels most paints - no sanding needed! Plus, it's a blocking primer that seals in tannins on those difficult cherry & mahogany projects! Oh, and it blocks other pesky stains like ink, smoke & water!
White or Gray?
The simple answer...if your final color will be a white or pastel shade, White Power Primer is the right choice. If your final color will be Midnight, Farmhouse Navy or any of our deep tones, Gray Power Primer is the better option.
The tricky question is - which primer is best for all those in between shades? Truthfully, either color will work! However, if your color is soft, we'd go with white. If your color is deep, we'd go with gray. Have a question? We're happy to help!
